My guest this time around is David Brower. David worked in the entertainment industry for 20 years outside of the USA. He worked with Disney and headed world movie premieres in Europe, and the Middle East for IMAX.
I brought David onto the show to talk about how we can connect with people deeply and authentically from the heart.David’s Sensorial Experience Days allow people to connect in more creative and open heart and energy generous ways with themselves and others.
I wanted David to share about these experiences and how we can have deeper more meaningful connections in our day to day life.
The Big Takeaway – Be CREATIVE, Open & GENEROUS to Connect Authentically
David is a master at connecting with people. In his early 20’s, he packed up his bags from the USA and moved to France having only taken 2 semesters of French classes.
David began to learn the language by submersing himself with French speaking friends. He knew that if he found ex-pats, English speaking friends, he would never discover what he came to find.
By forcing himself out of his comfort zone, he learned things about himself and how to connect with people even without knowing the language.
We dig in deep to David’s strategy for connecting with people at conferences and networking events – in really any situation. He shares all the juicy details how he does it!
From my math, there are over 10 steps that he does to create more serendipitous connections in his life.
One of the key components that David talked about is the importance of being open. Open to giving energy, open to connecting, open to receiving what the event has to offer you.
David talks about prior to the event he does a workout or meditation to put him into a good state of feeling to connect with people.
On his way to the event, he focuses his energy and attention on opening himself up. Opening himself up to new experiences, opening up to sharing himself with other people, opening up to giving people compliments and radiating positive energy.
By placing himself into this mindset of possibility, giving and openness, David is all to attract serendipitous interactions and create lasting impressions. An impression of a person that people want to know and see again.
David goes into great length about this and I can’t do it all justice through my write up. I highly recommend listening to this part of the podcast. You can hear this part starting at the 23-minute mark of the episode.
